Bakhiya Stitch:
- Description: Bakhiya stitch, also known as Shadow Work, is one of the most popular stitches in Lucknowi Chikankari.

Technique:
- Ulti Bakhiya (From backside): Crisscrossing of thread work on fabric, creating a reverse shadow effect. The embroidery appears as if it’s part of the fabric itself.
- Seedhi Bakhiya (From the front side): The filling is done on the wrong side, while a running stitch outlines the design on the right side for a neat look.
- Usage: Bakhiya stitch is widely used in chikan garments, including sarees, kurtis, and bed sheets.

Patterns: It’s foten used to create beautiful floral patterns and delicate geometric designs on fabrics like muslin, cotton, and silk.

Chikankari Process:
- Chikankari embroidery begins with cutting and styling the fabric into the desired shape.

Wodden blocks with varous patterns (florals, booties, or bordrs) are dipped in a color solution (usually indigo) and printed on the gaments ( stitched, semi stitched, or unstitched).
